The TE Build Team are passionate about supporting local community organisations.
We are motivated to make a positive difference and work closely with organisations, such as WIRES. Members of the TE Build team share their time, skills, and expertise to support licenced wildlife carers/volunteers and local native wildlife.

Waverley Council's annual Local Hero Awards recognise people in our community who are passionate about making a difference, and those dedicated to making Waverley a special place to live. One of our team members, Belinda, won the '2021 Local Hero Award- Community Volunteer'. The branch that Belinda volunteers in (WIRES Eastern Branch), won '2021 Local Hero Award- Working Together'. Both Belinda and WIRES Eastern Branch have been nominated for '2021 NSW Volunteer of the Year Award'.

Members of the TE Build Team work with students in local public schools to teach them basic carpentry skills.

Our latest project was "Build a Possum Box".

Students worked with our carpenters to build houses for displaced possums living in the local area. The students made 4 boxes and donated these to the WIRES Eastern Branch.

Responding to local emergencies

Catastrophic fires, severe drought and extreme weather events are taking a toll on communities and native wildlife.

Members of TE Build felt very humbled and privileged to be part of an initiative to transport much needed essential items to Cobargo during the devastating bushfires.
